Inspired by life ~ Ispirato alla vita!!

Shea English was built with the conviction that fashion is more than imitating the latest trends or showcasing the most expensive brands. It’s about you. Great fashion shows personality: it says something about who you are, what you care about, and how you feel. Shea helps each of her clients define his or her own distinctive style that exudes individual personality, spirit, and confidence.

If your clothes don’t feel right or aren’t relevant to your lifestyle, you won’t wear them. Shea starts by getting to know her clients, taking time to understand their goals, everyday activities, and fashion preferences. Then she works with you to curate your closet: weeding out items you no longer need, building new looks from your existing wardrobe, and finding new items you’ll love.

Shea has spent more than 25 years shaping looks and trends with top brands and models, but helping individuals bolster their personal style is far more rewarding. For her, it’s about seeing the internal transformation in her clients. She helps people understand which styles look best with their body type, choose colors that enhance their natural palettes, and shop efficiently. Shea brings intelligence and experience to her clients and with that knowledge she will educate you on fit and how to create complete looks head to toe.

Shea started her career in fashion at the age of 18, when she would dress models at I.Magnin for in-house shows, and met designers, Donna Karan, Geoffrey Bean, and Marc Jacobs.  After just one event, she was hooked.

Inspired by her great-grandmother, a seamstress who created bespoke replicas of the high-fashion clothing whom she admired and her Great-Aunt Gigi, who was drenched in “Old Hollywood” glamour, she quickly went from tomboy to fashion-obsessed. Shea went on to study Fashion Merchandising and worked in a wide range of positions in the fashion industry.

Today, more than 25 years later, Shea continues to provide sartorial design and styling advice for top brands, retail stores, and everyday people.

As a San Francisco native, Shea has immersed herself in the eclectic energy of the city. Over the years, she has worked with a diverse set of renowned stylists and designers. Shea has served as the head stylist for fashion shows with Levi’s Strauss Co., Colleen Quen Couture, and Rock & Republic; managed in-store styling and creative execution in Gap Inc. flagship stores; and coordinated merchandising for Banana Republic Men.  Shea has also created looks for TV features and photo shoots with clients that range from RedCarpetSF and the San Francisco Ballet to the local band, Naked Soul.

Shea English was founded in 2001 when her first child was born, because she wanted to spend more time with family and still be creative. As an entrepreneur, having balance and flexibility is very important. Shea counsel’s executives balancing board meetings, work travel, and buzzing social lives. Shea advises men and women who have been through a divorce and need to update their wardrobe as they start to date. She helps computer programmers and entrepreneurs dress for transitions to corporate leadership positions. Whether their fashion goals are professional, personal, or just-for-fun, Shea elevates, guides gently, and educates each client to their full potential.

It’s not just the clothes, it’s the internal transformation.

Styling is an art; to create visually with intellect through inspiration.
